Age: 25 years old.
Died: December 15, 2009.
Unit: : Air Force - assigned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.


Birth: Oct. 7, 1984, New Jersey, USA

COTTRELL, Staff Sergeant Stephen E. USAF 25, of Browns Mills, NJ, died Tuesday, Dec. 15th.  He was born in Long Branch, NJ, had lived in Howell Twp., NJ, Manasquan, NJ, and Port Richey, before assignment to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in February, 2009.

He was a graduate of Manasquan High School, Class of 2003, a member of the American Legion, Port Richey, and had served as a special police officer for the Township of Freehold.

Staff Sergeant Cottrell enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in July, 2005. He had served in Iraq with Unit 732ESS-Det 3 with the police transition team.

He is survived by his wife, Sr. Airman Amy Cottrell, USAF, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst; his mother, Patricia Cottrell of Port Richey, FL; his father and stepmother, Charles and Kerry Cottrell of Manasquan, NJ; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Groner of St. Petersburg, FL; his paternal grandmother, Helen Cottrell of Manasquan, NJ, and Tampa, FL; his sister and her husband, Ann-Marie and Cory Schnebel of Brick, NJ; his brother and his wife, Adam and Cindy Cirlincione, Davenport, FL; 2 nephews, Cody Schnebel and David Cirlincione; and two nieces, Katie-Marie Schnebel and Julia Cirlincione.

Burial: Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery
