Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom - served as a Medic with the 42nd Infantry Division.

Sgt. Christopher C. DeRemer, 35, of Pennington, N.J., passed away Saturday at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave, Hightstown, N.J. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, N.J. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. www.saulfuneralhomes.com 

Born in San Clemente, Calif., Chris was a longtime New Jersey resident. He was a paramedic and had worked for Capital Health Systems, RWJUH in New Brunswick, N.J., and Hamilton, N.J., the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department, and was a volunteer for the East Windsor Rescue Squad District 1. Chris was currently serving with the N.J. Army National Guard (OIF II-III), proudly serving his country and community. He enjoyed boating and was currently serving as rear commodore of the Bordentown Yacht Club.

Predeceased by his father, Bradley L. DeRemer, his paternal grandfather, Lawrence DeRemer, and his maternal grandparents, Carl and Carmella Haberin, Chris is survived by his best friend, his beloved lab, Elvis; his mother, Barbara DeRemer Zustovich; his sisters, Jennifer L. and Theresa DeRemer; his brother, Joseph DeRemer; his paternal grandmother, Betty Marie DeRemer; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his longtime girlfriend, Erin Fassold.
