Juan C. Fajardo Obituary
Juan C. Fajardo, 41, of Columbus, NJ passed away unexpectedly from injuries due to a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Born in Escuintla, Guatemala, Juan came to the United States at 7 years old and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Nottingham High School, Class of 1998. Juan joined the NJ National Guard as an Infantry Soldier after graduation and later attended Rutgers University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish and earned his Officer Commission. After graduation, he attended the NJ State Police Training Academy, where he was a member of the 139th graduating class and was awarded badge #6564. As a passionate NJ State Trooper and NJ National Guardsmen, he later advanced his education and attended Seton Hall University where he received his master’s degree in Human Resources.
Although his time with us was short, Juan lived his life full of adventure, laughter, and was always challenging himself to learn new things. His hobbies included flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, camping, and shooting. He loved coaching his children’s sports and was known to many in the community as Coach Juan. Most of all, he was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, whether in our RV traveling or simply sitting back for a family movie night, he was always present in the moment and made his family feel loved and protected.
Predeceased by his mother, Maria Magdalena Cruz; he is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Adriana (Simoes) Fajardo of Columbus, NJ; their three children, Nicolas Ventura, Ava Magdalena, and Cristian Juan. He leaves behind his father, Juan F. Fajardo of Guatemala; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ventura and Lucilia Simoes, of Garwood, NJ; his brother and sister-in law, Francisco and Leah Fajardo, of Bremen, GA; his sister and brother-in-law, Monica and John Flesch, of East Windsor; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Nicole Simoes of Rahway; his nieces and nephews, Alex, Alyssa, Aidan, John Jr., Anabelle, Gianna, and Vivian; and many loving family members and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish – Assumption Church, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
Military Honors and Interment will follow in Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
