Pfc. Bruce Miller Jr.
Hometown: Orange, New Jersey, U.S. Age: 23 years old. Died: March 22, 2004 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Unit: Army, 2nd Infantry Battalion 3rd Infantry Regiment,2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, WA. Birth: Feb. 22, 1981, New Jersey, USA. Army Pfc. Miller was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, from Fort Lewis, Washington. Miller died of non-combat gunshot wound in Mosul. Bruce graduated from Teaneck Community School in 1999 and also received a diploma from Orange High School in his home district. During his high school years, he participated in track and field events. He had been offered a scholarship to William Paterson University before deciding he wanted to join the Army. In January 2003, he enlisted in the Army and was deployed to Iraq in December. His brigade of nearly 5,000 is helping to train Iraqi defense forces and rebuild the city. During his time in Iraq, he earned the Army Service Ribbon and Global War on Terrorism Medal. After his enlistment tour was over, he wanted to go to college because he had become interested in studying law. Bruce was interested in art, poetry and writing. He was a kind, thoughtful and religious young man who loved his family. Burial: Rosedale Cemetery , Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, USA. |
