Capt Grace Oey
Hometown: Princeton Junction, New Jersey.
Died: August 31, 2018.
Age: 27.
Unit:  127th Aviation Support Battalion, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division.

Born on July 29, 1991, in Boston Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Dr. Angela (Hee) & the late Swan Liong Oey, and the loving wife of Maxim K. Dumont. Grace was a graduate of the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2017, while serving in the US Army reserve.

After graduation, she served her internship year on active duty at the Beaumont Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. A few weeks before her death, she earned her wings as a flight surgeon taking care of troops of the 127th Aviation Support Battalion, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division. Prior to medical school, Grace belonged to the Temple University Honors Program, Class of 2013, where she earned two Bachelor degrees in Environment Science and Anthropology.

Grace was a loving wife, daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and dear friend to all and she will be dearly missed by many. In addition to her loving husband Max and her mother Angela, Grace is survived by her brother, Jeffrey J. Oey; father in law, Dr. Etienne F. Dumont; mother-in-law, Caroline L. Dumont Vandenbroucke; and her grandmother, Giok (the late Dr. Kim H.) Oey; Maternal uncles, Harold Hee and his wife Caren, Michael Hee and his wife Angela. Paternal uncles, Joseph Oey and his wife Linda, S. Gie Oey and his partner Todd, S. Eng Oey and his wife Stephanie. And several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Swan Liong Oey, paternal grandfather Dr. Kim H. Oey, maternal grandfather Chit Lim Hee, maternal grandmother Yung Yung Chu.

Capt. Grace Oey, native of Princeton Junction, New Jersey and a graduate of the Transitional Year Internship Program receives a diploma from Maj. Jeffery Ashburn, director, Transitional Year Residency Program, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, during WBAMC's 2018 Graduate Medical Education graduation ceremony held at the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss Museum, June 15. Nearly 50 graduates completed courses of study in residencies or internships in one of the following GME programs: Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, Transitional Year Internship, U.S. Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing, and the Social Work Internship program.
